Arrest Made in Disappearance of Elderly Couple from Nudist Resort
A 62-year-old man named Michael Sparks has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Daniel and Stephanie Menard an elderly couple who went missing from their home at Olive Dell Ranch a nudist resort in Redlands. Daniel is 79 years old, and Stephanie is 73. They were last seen on August 24, and their friend reported them missing on August 25. Their car was found unlocked with their phones and wallets inside and their Shih Tzu dog, Cuddles was also missing, according to the report of True Crime News.
On August 29, Redlands Police received a tip that Sparks might be involved in the Menards’ disappearance. When the police tried to contact Sparks and he wasn’t reachable so they used a tactical vehicle called a Tac Cat to get into his home. Sparks was eventually found hiding under his house and was arrested after a long standoff. The police haven’t said if Sparks is helping with the investigation.
Search for Missing Couple’s Bodies Continues on Michael Sparks’ Property
The police believe that Daniel and Stephanie Menard are dead and likely buried somewhere on Michael Sparks’ property. Redlands Police Officer Carl Baker said that the search caused a lot of damage to Sparks’ home, which is now delaying further efforts until the area is safe. Cadaver dogs from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will help in finding the bodies as the search goes on.
Authorities are now focusing on finding the bodies of Daniel and Stephanie Menard believing they are on Sparks’ property.
