PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (TCN) — Police announced indictments against four people, including the victim’s husband, for allegedly luring a 23-year-old woman and fatally shooting her in her car in February.
The Prince William County Police Department shared in a statement that Lionel Carter, Grorethas McKinnon, and Denzel Wade are all being charged with aggravated murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a felony. A fourth alleged co-conspirator, Drew Buchanan, is charged with aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. Carter and McKinnon are both already serving prison time for different offenses.
In the early morning hours of Feb. 2, officers responded to a shooting call near Bronson Court and Brickwood Drive in Woodbridge and found 23-year-old Egypt Carter suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and pronounced her deceased at the scene. Officials also located a dog in her vehicle, but it was unharmed and turned over to Animal Control.
Investigators allege Lionel Carter “conspired to have the victim killed.” The suspects allegedly “lured” Egypt Carter to the address in Woodbridge “under a ruse to allegedly pick up prescription narcotics for her husband.” However, when she got there, she was “ambushed and killed.” Police say Buchanan fired the fatal shots and Scott was with him.
WRC-TV reports Lionel Carter has been in prison for fatally shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend in 2014.
