Corrections officer convicted of killing woman 26 years later



Lorrie Anne Smith was found dead in her home in 1997. Without modern DNA testing, police were unable to find a suspect, and the case went cold. Thanks to advancements in genetic genealogy testing, investigators identified Jerry Lee, a corrections officer, as her killer 26 years later.
