FALL RIVER, Mass. (TCN) — An escape didn’t go as planned when police nabbed a 33-year-old man who got stuck in a chimney while fleeing from police this week.
According to the Fall River Police Department, on Dec. 10, Community Action and Suppression Team detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Canal Street and saw two men running away on the roof. One of the men reportedly managed to flee in a car parked nearby. Police said the second suspect, Robert Langlias, “invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside of a chimney.”
Langlias reportedly got stuck in the chimney and “required the assistance of the very detectives he was previously fleeing from.” WPRI-TV reports firefighters needed to break part of the chimney to get him out.
Police and EMS managed to free Langlias from the chimney, and he was transported to a hospital out of precaution due to “his Santa-antics.”
After he was medically cleared, police took him into custody on charges of possession of class A drugs, possession of class B drugs, and “a slew of charges” from other outstanding warrants. Police also arrested 32-year-old Tanisha Ibay “with less theatrics” on the same drug charges.
