WARREN, Mich. (TCN) — Law enforcement and loved ones are searching for a missing 30-year-old mother of two whose car was found abandoned near her ex-boyfriend’s apartment.
According to a post from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Inc., Ashley Elkins was last seen Jan. 2 on the 29000 block of Pinehurst Street in Roseville and her phone’s location showed her at her ex-boyfriend’s home.
WJBK-TV reports Elkins told her family she was going to a beauty supply store, but she never returned home. Her sister said, “She loves her family, her kids. She would never just disappear for this many days.”
Days later, officials located Elkins’ Chevy Malibu in Roseville, which led police to the ex-boyfriend’s apartment. Investigators reportedly removed a dumpster from the scene to collect as evidence.
According to WDIV-TV, Elkins works as a hairstylist, and not long before she disappeared, her ex allegedly made an appointment with her under a fake name. The ex reportedly showed up and knocked, and Elkins told others in the house to be quiet until he left.
Elkins’ mother, Monika Elkins, told WDIV, “We want her back, and I’m just praying that we’re not too late.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Warren Police Department at 586-574-4784.
